CHOOSING THE APPROPRIATE CABLE TRAY/LADDER

Next, we select the appropriate cable tray / ladder for the total weight of cables (calculated in Step 5). The load capacity of the cable trays / ladders can be found in the load curves, relative to the span.

All ELVAN cable trays / ladders are tested in-house acc. to EN 61537.

The key factors for the load capacity of any cable tray / ladder are:

  1. Support spacing
  2. Side height and
  3. Material thickness 

We strongly recommend not exceeding a support spacing of 1.5 meters if possible.
